Chapter 7

Now this part furthered my mission against the Predators, and their slimy leader Señor Saucy. As we prepared to call it a night inside the trunk, Master Tarroc sat down upon his chair and opened up the drawer. He swiftly pulled out the box that he had pulled out that other night. I watched as he held the box firmly as his eyes began to look at me.

“I have something to show you,” he said as he rose out of the chair and began to walk over to me. As he held the box firmly against his chest fur, he made his way to my side as he sat upon the bed. The bed gave a bit as he sat down but it quickly adjusted as Master Tarroc looked down upon the box.

“What is it?” I asked as he placed the box upon my lap.

“Open it and find out,” he replied as he got up from the bed.

He turned around, however I barely noticed as my hands crept over to the top of the box. I lifted the top and moved it to the side as my eyes quickly zoned in on the contents of the box. Inside the box was a dusty amulet that had bit of an orange stain to it as well as the bottom of the box. I slowly lifted the amulet out from the box and brought it closer to my eyes so I could examine it. This amulet appeared awfully familiar from the length to the rabbit insignia located at the heart of the amulet.

“This looks familiar,” I said as I continued to look at the amulet with intent.

“That is because it was Lio’s,” said TC from out of the trunk’s shadows. My eyes widened as I stared at the amulet as my eyes filled with tears.

“Indeed it was, however we found it near the roads just outside of Tortabbi,” said Master Tarroc as he placed his furry hand upon my shoulder.

“I bet the foxes dropped it,” added TC as he prepared his area for sleep. A tear or two dropped from my eyes onto the amulet which took away some of the dust that had settled down on it.

“It doesn’t matter now, it’s yours so you can always remember him,” said Master Tarroc as he grabbed the amulet out of my hands. I watched as he lifted it up and then proceeded to place it around my neck as he backed away.

“How does it look?” I asked as I began to adjust it a bit.

“You look a rabbit destined for greatness,” replied Master Tarroc as he walked back over to his chair.

As I cleared the final tear from my eye, I watched as he sat back into his chair while TC disappeared from the light in the room. I quickly lay back on the bed as my hands grasped a gentle hold upon the amulet and my eyes shut. It was not long until I was suddenly jarred awake by TC’s massive claws as smoke and embers began to fill inside.
